Sept 2023
Hello Parents/Guardians,
I am very excited about the great privilege I have in my new role as principal at Brant Christian this coming year. I am looking forward to partnering with you and the local churches in fulfilling the mission of Brant Christian School “in developing graduates of integrity and godliness: ambassadors for Christ and his kingdom”.
As you might know, two of my children, Caleb and Kenan, attended Brant and my daughter Anaya is currently a student. My wife Rhonda serves on the building committee, so you can see that we love being part of the Brant Christian School community.
Over my career, my primary responsibilities have been to either teach to be an administrator in support of Humanities teachers. Although a native Albertan, I began my career teaching junior and senior high school French Immersion Humanities in British Columbia. I was lured back to Alberta where I served as a Social Studies coordinator in the Fort Vermilion School Division and as principal at Rainbow Lake School. Before coming to Brant Christian School, I was an instructional coach with the Foothills School Division where I once again worked closely with Social Studies and Language Arts teachers in a mentoring role. Finally, the chance to teach my own kids was the catalyst for coming to Brant five years ago and I’ve never regretted it.
Assignments
As principal, one of my main responsibilities is the spiritual development of our students. In this capacity, the staff is working hard to create a strong biblical curriculum that encourages thoughtful and intentional development of our students’ character so that upon graduating, they know God and will make Him known both locally and around the world.
Communication
As in past years, I will communicate with parents once per week with a weekly update. In these communiqués, I give a quick recap of the week’s major events and keep you abreast of upcoming events.
Once again, I look forward to a successful year teaching and learning with your children. Should you have any questions, concerns or ideas to share, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school at 403-684-3752 or email me.
May God bless you richly,
Shain Chisholm
